“ Ventured into the Dearborn on a busy Thursday night after deciding I wanted to try their beef and cocktails and wine. They were fully booked out but had space at the bar which was perfect for me. The bar was full but service was still fast abs friendly. I tried the scotch egg to start, and good lord I would have eaten another - it was amazing. Typical scotch eggs are made with sausage meat, but their spin on it using trout was incredible. The egg was perfect cooked inside, leaving a beautiful runny yolk in the middle that complimented the extremely crispy bread rib coating. Really enjoyed it. Main course I had the beef bavette, and it was absolutely delicious. I haven't had a bavette before, and so didn't realise how much I've been missing out on it!! It was beautiful, flavourful, cooked to perfection and very tender with a nice sear crust. I hoped for an Italian red Cabernet Sauvignon, which paired well and just set experience off. Ended with a cocktail, and I was a very happy patron. If I'm in Chicago again I'm sure I will be back! ”
“ My husband and I had a lovely dinner at The Dearborn. Fantastic service, beautiful ambience, and delicious food. It doesn't get any better... We had the Prosciutto and White Cheddar Croquettes, Fish and Chips, and Stuffed Miller Amish Chicken. All of our dishes were fantastic; very tasty and great portion size. Usually with a higher quality restaurant like this, you need to order a few sides to accompany your mains as the portions are so small. But not this place, which was a nice surprise! For dessert we had the Strawberry ad Rhubarb Trifle. Again - perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and not too heavy. A perfect finish. This is definitely a must-do restaurant if visiting Chicago. ”
“ We had lunch reservations here and we regret nothing! The food was fresh and top quality. We shared the daily Market Salad with gulf shrimp, the fried chicken, and the rolls with herb butter. Loved it all!! The chicken was very tasty, sweet and perfect with the hot sauce. I will say the pickles that came with it were not good to me, but my husband said he thought they were fine. A small price to pay for an otherwise fabulous lunch!! Beautiful space, so sophisticated. Cocktails were refined and delicious. Next time we are in town we will be back for dinner! ”
“ Delightful restaurant with very tasty dessert offerings. I was seated in the open window and enjoyed the view and people watching as I waited for my meal. Was easily able to get a seat on Friday night. The server was knowledgeable and suggested the walleye which is locally harvested from Lake Superior. Came on a bed of delicious veggies. I topped the meal off with a delicious molten lava with a scoop of dark chocolate gelato. Well worth the price. Also, meals came out very fast and was not rushed to leave so was able to relax. ”
“ The Dearborn is a really nice spot in downtown Chicago. It’s stylish, modern, and super clean. There’s tons of seating too: booths, tables, and more. I didn’t explore the whole place, but it looked like they might even have a private dining room for bigger groups, which is nice if you’re planning something special. The staff was attentive, and service was on point the whole time. Also, shoutout to the clean bathrooms …always a plus. Now, onto the food. It was kind of a mixed experience for me. I started with the Parker House rolls, and they were amazing ; warm, soft, buttery, and honestly pretty filling. I could’ve just had those and been content. But then I ordered the shrimp and grits, and that’s where things went downhill. The portion size was big (which is usually great), but the flavor just wasn’t there. The grits were bland, the shrimp didn’t have much seasoning, and I added scrambled eggs on top, but even those didn’t bring much to the dish. Kinda disappointing, to be honest. nobody wants a lot of food that isn’t good. That said, I’m definitely open to giving The Dearborn another shot next time I’m in town. The place itself is great, and the service was great. maybe I just picked the wrong dish this time. ”
